the lullaby my Dad sang when i barely could talk or walk...

We shall overcome
We shall overcome
We shall overcome some day

Oh, deep in my heart
I do believe
We shall overcome some day

We'll walk hand in hand
We'll walk hand in hand
We'll walk hand in hand some day

We shall all be free
We shall all be free
We shall all be free some day

We are not afraid
We are not afraid
We are not afraid some day

We are not alone
We are not alone
We are not alone some day

The whole wide world around
The whole wide world around
The whole wide world around some day

We shall overcome
We shall overcome
We shall overcome some day

... while instilling all that this song has said deep in me, you missed teaching me how to live without you, Dad...

Didnt he at times make u take the lead in singing 'We shall overcome...'? If u feel like do read Wordsworth's Tintern Abbey.

my earliest memories of this great song is Dad whistling the tunes of this song... he made me eat with him almost dancing with this song, with me on the dining table with my eating apron and Mom running between the kitchen and the room... coincidentally at this time, our home was being used as a Left underground, with Hare Krishna Konar staying in with us, on the run...
